David Burrows, Vice President, Media

David Burrows’ experience in the industry and the company spans more than 18 years, starting with Cable Bahamas on the ground floor as Marketing Assistant in 1996. After demonstrating his strength in marketing strategy and execution, David was promoted several times, reaching Director of Marketing in 2000 and Head of Marketing in 2012. During this time, he guided the launch of broadband Internet services, which now has over 75 per cent market share. David was also responsible for the communications plan for the digitisation of Cable Bahamas’ network. Significantly, he managed the rebranding of the company with the introduction of the REV theme and new product lines,
REVTV, REVON and REVOICE.

Mr Burrows has served on the board of the Caribbean Cable & Telecommunications Association (CCTA) for seven years and served as chairman for 2014-2015. The organisation is region wide and serves eighteen operators in twenty jurisdictions in the region.

Mr Burrows has managed the sales and marketing for the company, creating a formal telesales team, and he played a key role in the group that grew Cable Bahamas’ revenues by more than 400 per cent.

Other highlights of his cable career include the launch of high definition (HD) simulcasting, an advance video on demand (VOD) service, the conversion of the company’s analogue cable TV customers to digital, the launch of The Bahamas first competitive landline home and business phone service, REVOICE.

David has taken a leadership role in the overall product development of the company, managing multi-million dollar marketing budgets, determining the best growth path for Cable Bahamas’ range of products while focusing on the needs and demands of its diverse and expanding customer base.

Mr Burrows attained his B.A.Sc. in Marketing Management from Lynchburg College in 1986.
