REV Continues to be the Title sponsor for The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year awards.

REV, the only 100% Bahamian owned Triple Play Provider continues its five-year commitment of being the Title Sponsor for the premiere educational awards program for elementary school students in the Bahamas.

The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year committee is set to host its 2022 Award Ceremony June 11th at the Church of God Auditorium off of Joe Farrington Road. Dozens of the best and brightest students from primary schools around the country will gather along with their parents to await the announcement of who will be deemed The 2022 Primary School Student of the Year.

BPSSOTY Founder and President Mr. Ricardo Deveaux expressed his gratitude by stating “REV has been an invaluable partner to the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation over the past several years as title sponsor. Their contributions have significantly impacted two major aspects of our program. Namely the winners’ scholarship and a sizable contribution to offsetting the costs of bringing our Family Island nominees in for the awards ceremony here in New Providence. We salute REV as a giant corporate citizen who has proven their commitment to investing in the future of our nation through positively impacting the lives of these young striving students throughout the entire Bahamas.”

Since 2019, REV has donated over $60,000 in cash and in kind services to the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation. Each year, the committee receives a cash donation of $15,000 in which $7,000 of that amount goes directly to the winning recipient of the award. In- kind services in the form of media production of the awards ceremony, advertisement on cable TV and air time on OUR TV is also provided annually.

Last year’s award and cash recipient Chelsea Smith recalls her experience when she heard her name announced as the 2021 winner. She said “I was so excited the evening I became The Bahamas National Primary School Student Of The Year. Winning brought tears of joy and happiness that all of my hard work was finally paying off in a big way. God answers prayers, as I was humbled and thankful for the funds received from the company, REV who gave the winning prize.”

Smith explained that the $7,000 from REV impacted her schooling in a very positive way. She affirmed “These funds were so helpful in paying school fees, buying books, and other supporting school assistance.  It takes a village to raise a child, and both my parents and I are most grateful and appreciative to REV for their commitment and dedication to consistently impacting children in a meaningful way. We hope you and your company are always blessed.”

REV continues to strive on being a great corporate citizen in the communities and looks forward to supporting the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year foundation and other organizations alike in the near and far future.
