Cable Bahamas Deploys Team to Assess Network post Hurricane Irma

“Restorations efforts underway on all impacted islands”
NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS (Wednesday, September 13th) — Cable Bahamas executive and COO, John Gomez asserts that the communications giant was pleased to see the rapid restoration of REV services for customers that experienced disruptions in their services over the weekend due to the effects of Hurricane Irma on the islands of Eleuthera and New Providence. Gomez confirmed that ten percent of the nodes were impacted in New Providence and forty seven percent impacted in Eleuthera. The executive continued that, “within twelve hours of the ‘All-Clear’ being issued, all impacted nodes were restored.”

Cable Bahamas Deploys Technical Team Immediately Following NEMA’s All-Clear for Central & Southeast Bahamas

“Safety remains a top concern as we assess our network”
NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS (Saturday, September 9th) — Cable Bahamas’ technical teams were deployed on Saturday, September 9th, immediately following the National Emergency Management Agency’s all-clear message for the central and southeast Bahamas, according to COO, John Gomez. The executive indicated that the network sustained minimal impact in the areas outside the southeast and northwest Bahamas, where Grand Bahama, Bimini and Andros remain under hurricane warning. “Intermittent commercial power outages affected some of the nodes in our network during the evening of September 8th and into the following morning but we worked closely with BPL to ensure swift service restoration.”
