REV, Cable Bahamas Business Solutions and OUR TV provide more than $60,000 in cash and in kind value for the inaugural sporting event.
The Cable Bahamas Group is proud to serve as the title sponsor the Inaugural Babe Ruth Caribbean Region Championships. This year’s event marks the first time the prestigious Babe Ruth baseball association has brought its competition to our shore. Teams from all over the world are preparing to compete with number of countries represented including Cuba, Puerto Rico, Aruba, and Cayman Islands.
The event is being hosted at the recently refurbished Bailou Hill Road Sporting Complex and is expected to hosts hundreds of fans daily. The competition officially began Thursday July 7th with a special opening ceremony at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium at concluding the first day of play. A number of dignitaries were in attendance.
Several of the brands within the Cable Bahamas Group have teamed up to make the event a smash hit by providing cash and in-kind services including TV live streaming services provided by OUR TV.
Mr. Javier Bowe Head of Government Innovations for Cable Bahamas Group said during a recent press conference, “Once we were approached for sponsorship our company gladly jumped in to assist the worthwhile initiative. We are happy to support this initiative. The support is all the way from our CEO down. We will be providing Wi-Fi connectivity for both the internal team and fans in attendance. We will also be providing Push to Talk devices to keep their team in contact and recording and streaming for live TV from OUR TV. We are excited to take advantage of this opportunity to fulfill our mandate of connecting individuals and communities.
Mrs. M’khel Ferguson Marketing Manager for REV furthered Mr. Bowe’s sentiments stating, “REV is proud of our long-standing relationship with the development of athletics and sports talent in the Bahamas. Although sporting content is king at a time when people are glued to their devices viewing Jazz Chisolm or Lucious Fox in the major baseball leagues through our networks, our support is also grounded in playing a key role in our nation and our youth’s development. We look forward to seeing these future MLB stars display their talents at the Babe Ruth Invitational.”
Viewers will be able to watch games live all week long on OUR TV REV TV Channel 212. A number of local vendors will also be in attendance serving food and drinks. Admission to the games is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets for the entire competition are also available for $65.
